CONFERENCE PROGRAM
BOOK OF ABSTRACTS
The main objective of the conference is an interdisciplinary and multifaceted exchange of experiences of scientists and practitioners in the field of functioning, planning and management of the development of urbanized areas, both small urban centers, large cities, metropolises and rural areas particularly exposed to investment pressure in metropolitan regions, or existing and potential spa protection areas.
The conference is devoted to the scientific, professional and social activities of Professor Elżbieta Węcławowicz-Bilska, an architect who died in 2022. It covers the main issues that the late Professor dealt with – from regional issues, through local planned ones, to the problems of healing spaces of small spa towns and architecture.
This is the tenth conference within the cycle The idea of the city, time, place, form.
Due to substantial interest in recent changes to planning law, we are delighted to announce a panel at the conference dedicated to practical issues.
TUP members from Krakow will present on issues related to the practical implementation of amendments to the Law on Planning and Spatial Development,
- including the elimination of the study of conditions and directions of spatial development document.
- local councils are required to adopt a development strategy and general plan,
- implement digital changes to planning processes,
- public participation regulations.
Moreover, experts will demonstrate the potential uses of the QGIS software for spatial data analysis and visualization, and how Central Statistical Office databases can be leverage for spatial planning.
PREPARATION OF PAPERS
We look forward to papers implementing the objectives of the Conference. The presentation in Polish or English should be adjusted to the expected time of the speech (about 15 minutes). A PDF file with a size not exceeding 5 MB can be sent until November 10, 2023 to the Conference’s e-mail address.
PREPARATION OF ANNOUNCEMENTS (for students and doctoral students from doctoral schools)
We are waiting for announcements (poster, presentation) implementing the objectives of the Conference. Please adjust the message in Polish or English to the expected time of speech (about 10 minutes). Please send a PDF file with a size not exceeding 5 MB by November 10, 2023 to the Conference’s e-mail address.
CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION:
The condition for participation in the Conference is to fill in the on-line application form, and making a payment to the account in accordance with the Conference Schedule.
